Giving is Kicking in Kansas City
We’ve said it before, but we’ll say it again: charitable giving in Kansas City is worth watching!
Just this weekend, Matt Beem, president of Hartsook Companies, wrote a column for the Examiner on Kansas City’s national reputation for philanthropy. He cited the city’s most recent and well-publicized example of giving, LIVESTRONG Sporting Park, the new home to Major League Soccer team Sporting Club of Kansas City. (Matt was also kind enough to mention the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation as a national leader in giving in his column. Thanks, Matt!)
Sporting KC is pioneering a unique approach to charitable giving and corporate social responsibility by pledging to donate a portion of revenues generated at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park to LIVESTRONG, Lance Armstrong’s nonprofit organization serving those affected by cancer.
The Greater Kansas City Community Foundation and its non-regional brand, Greater Horizons, applaud this innovative partnership for giving fans the opportunity to give back each and every time they visit the park.
